Jazzfest.Wien History 2019

“Jazz Proclamation” is the expression of jazz in all its varieties. Jazz is one of the few musical styles where the artist and the music are allowed to unfurl and flourish and change. Jazz is constantly evolving and offers the artist the possibility to improvise and giving them the chance to create something completely original.

Cecile Nordegg and her band push this freedom in intense directions. During the production of their CD “Jazz Proclamation”, they improvised their favorite songs, adding rock elements to jazz songs and vice-versa. These new interpretations under the guidance of Cecile Nordegg transform legendary songs from Barbara, Edith Piaf and even Frank Zappa. They can be found on Jazz Proclamation Vol. 1 & 2”, as can original compositions.
