The Leading Ladies

Unlike the early years of jazz when female performers such as pianist Mary Lou Williams were the exception and not the rule, today there are many talented female musicians. This all-star band features Canadian pianist Renee Rosnes, Ingrid Jensen on trumpet, Anat Cohen on clarinet and the singer Cecile McLorin Salvant. A dynamic and graceful performance can be expected.

Dorretta Carter

Dorretta Carter has been a constant talent in the Austrian music scene since 1988. She has attracted a broad and dedicated fan base with her powerful performances of Soul, Jazz and Funk. Over the years she has performed with a wide variety of other artists such as Friedrich Gulda and Rainhard Fendrich. She has also performed in Austria at such events as the Ars Electronica in Linz and the Life Ball in Vienna. With Jazz pianist Paul Urbanek, she co-founded the group Dorretta Carter & Her Funk Monsters and composed rootsy songs reminiscent of James Brown.
